Guidelines to be Observed
A goal of the Twin County Museum & Hall of Fame is to honor citizens of Edgecombe and Nash Counties who have made broad and lasting contributions to the betterment of the community or who have brought recognition to the community through their accomplishments. By recognizing these individuals, the Hall of Fame will stimulate an interest in and an appreciation for the value of the history of this community and its citizens.
•Any individual or civic, charitable, religious, industrial, or professional organization may enter one or more nominees by following the guidelines provided below.
•The completed form is the primary tool used to determine the merits of each nominee for induction into the Twin County Hall of Fame.
•The Official Nomination Form supplied by the Twin County Museum & Hall of Fame committee (download at the bottom of the page) must be used; all information must be typewritten.
Criteria:
•The nominee must have made broad and lasting contributions to the betterment of the community or brought positive recognition to the community through their accomplishments.
•The nominee must be or have been a resident of Edgecombe or Nash Counties.
•The April 30, 2008 deadline for returning nominations to the Twin County Museum & Hall of Fame as established by the Selection Committee will be strictly enforced.
•All nominations will be considered by the selection Committee. Inductees will be announced on September 1 and honored at a special ceremony, place and time to be announced at later date.
•It is the nominator’s responsibility to provide complete and adequate background information on the nominee, including photographs if available. Copies of articles, speeches, letters, etc. may also be submitted; however, these materials become part of the permanent files and will not be returned.
•Information on past nominees will be held in the files; however, the names of such persons must be submitted on a current nomination form each year they are to be considered.
